Having it all isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
When Sarah Sullivan’s perfect life blows up in front of her, she finds herself crawling back to the one place she never saw herself returning: Home.
At thirty-one, Sarah had it all. Perfect job, perfect boyfriend, perfect life. When all that is taken away from her, she is left heartbroken and angry and desperate enough to let her life swallow her whole…for a while.
Fending off love and the pursuit of happiness completely, Sarah vows to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. She creates a list of goals for herself—starting with a much needed shower—and constructs a plan to dig herself out of her rut. What she doesn’t plan for is meeting the arrogant new employee her parents have hired to work on an addition to their home. Enter Jack Calloway, the handsome, charming, lickable foreman with an insatiable effect on Sarah’s girly parts.
Jack accepts the job, but gets more than he bargained for. Unable to ignore his racing hormones—and calm his temper—over the obnoxious woman who clouds his judgment, Jack pulls her in and steals her heart until she finally surrenders. But is he up for the challenge of picking up the pieces of Sarah’s broken heart? Can he carry her out of her rut?
This was my first time reading a contemporary romance with humor. I mean the first I’ve read contemporary, it was all serious with all the hot love making and heartbreaking moments in the characters life. Never did I once expected to encounter something life this. I know there’s a lot of Contemporary Romance with added Humor but this is my first. It will always be special to me. The lines of Sarah made me cry because I’m in a situation just like her’s when I first read this book.
When you get your life building up again, something will crush down again for you. how cruel life could be right? When it feels like everything’s going back on track then poof! It was all gone? Life crushing indeed. But Sarah made me realize that if you’re still alive you can still have the pieces back, but not in the same picture it was before.
Meeting Jack Calloway in a very rude way but she never knew this would change her life. This guy is so worth it. the kind of guy that you would want to have after reading this I swear.
Humor is really here too. It makes the atmosphere a little off from the tension building up. A little humor in life doesn’t hurt right? So if you would want to have a break from all the seriousness a Contemporary Romance read brings, add this to your list. IT’S DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ.
